How the New iPhone 5s and 5c Can Simplify Your Workday

b2ap3_thumbnail_iphone5s400.jpgYou have probably already heard about Apple Inc.'s latest iPhone innovations; exciting new products that have the potential of revolutionizing your business workday. The two new models of iPhone will come with the opportunity to simplify tasks, be better organized, and have more fun with your daily routine!

As Apple announced last Tuesday in their keynote presentation, two new iPhone models will be released this Fall. The budget-minded iPhone 5c comes designed in five different color options and sells for $100 less than the current iPhone. This presents a great option for potential customers who have been held back from Apple products because of their cost. The iPhone 5s comes armed with groundbreaking hardware and promises to be the best iPhone model produced yet. Let's break these products down, and learn how we can use them as ultimate business tools.

Hardware
At first glance, the iPhone 5s and 5c staunchly differ in appearance. The first aesthetic difference of note is the color. iPhone 5c comes in five distinctly bright color options; white, pink, yellow, blue, and green. Another distinction of this model is a one-piece plastic casing; allowing Apple to cut the cost of the product. For any customers worried about 'cheap plastic', the casing is reinforced with steel lining inside of the device. Other than the obvious color, the iPhone 5c is essentially the same as the current iPhone 5 model (which will be discontinued at the release of the new models), with the same A6 processor, screen size, camera, battery life, etc. The iPhone 5c is an opportunity to add color your workday, without breaking the bank.

The iPhone 5s model, however, has improved many of its hardware specs, but two developments are headline-worthy. First, is the introduction of the A7 processor; making iPhone 5s the first ever 64-bit mobile device. Apple also claims that "the A7 is up to twice as fast as the previous-generation system at CPU tasks." The second noteworthy innovation is the 'Touch ID' feature; "a fingerprint identity sensor." This new technology scans your fingerprint image, and recognizes it at the touch of the 'home' button on the device, allowing your fingerprint to be your new password for access through the lock screen, and for purchasing items from iTunes, iBooks, and the Apple app store. Apple also made upgrades to the camera, LTE speed, and more with the new iPhone 5s - a device worth considering as your next smartphone.

iOS 7
Perhaps the most useful iPhone 5s/5c feature for businesses is the software that it comes armed with; iOS 7. iOS 7 promises to be the world's most advanced mobile operating system, built for 64-bit architecture, and revolutionary intuitive design. Apple has made improvements to most aspects of the operating system including a new multitasking feature, improvements to Siri, Mail, iCal, and other organizational apps, Airdrop capability (bluetooth file transfer), and much more. More specifically for business use, iOS 7 provides "powerful new ways to configure and deploy devices" for any-sized business. The software allows an administrator to buy and manage apps across multiple Apple devices with ease, along with a few great new features; per-app VPN control, MDM configuration, App Store license management, and more. Overall, iOS 7 encourages opportunities for businesses to create BYOD environments (bring your own device), while increasing productivity, company communication, and employee enthusiasm.

Whether you are a sold out Apple fan, or just on the market for a new smartphone, it looks like the new iPhone products can be a 'win' for your business. The combination of new hardware and the intuitive iOS 7 software creates an opportunity for your company to cut device-confusion and disorganization time, allowing you to spend more minutes actually managing your business.
